RLGA Foursomes Winners

2014 RLGA FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS
Griffith ladies obviously closely connected with the ‘weather department’ provided perfect conditions for golf. A smaller than expected field enjoyed sunshine, a well prepared course and great camaraderie. Very slick greens caused some anxt between partners and at times put additional tension on friendships. Several pairs must have worked out, early in the day, “all the greens run towards the airport” which reduced the number of putts immensely! Those clever ladies were rewarded with prizes and silver trophies.
However, as foursomes is known as ‘the friendly game’ all pairings returned to the club house staunch chums determined to give it another go next year. Waiting for golfers was a scrumptious luncheon with platters of comfort food to tempt everyone’s taste buds.
2014 Foursomes Champions Bernie McLean and Jo Pavey (Corowa) were presented with the Kennedy Iverach Perpetual Trophy.
Handicap Winners Rose Alpen and Yvonne Couper (Griffith) received the Hoskin-O’Halloran silver trays.
